　　China has a lage landscape, with different areas enjoying different traditional foods during Spring Festival. These special foods not only have good tastes but also contain glorious meanings. Now I will take you to some typical places to taste their wonderful foods.

　　东北·哈尔滨Harbin

　　猪肉炖粉条

东北人过年必杀猪，大块大块地切下来，有亲友来访，便和粉条一起下锅炖之。盛一碗米饭，把猪肉炖粉条连汤带水扒拉到碗里，大伙围在一起，吃吧！生活是如此热烈而美好。

It’s a tradition in northeastern part of China to butcher pigs during the new year. It’s a delicious meal when stewing pork and vermicelli meet. When friends and relatives are visiting, a bowl of hot braised pork and vermicelli together with a bowl of steamed rice is the best entertainment. 　　灶糖是北京腊月二十三这天必吃的食品，这一天的俗习是“送灶爷”，所以家家户户会敬献糖瓜给灶王爷，好来年给家里一个更红火的光景。

　　On the twenty-third day of the twelfth lunar month, people will eat Tanggua, a kind of sweet food which make of maltose. It is the customs that every family will give tanggua (or sesame sugar) to “the kitchen god”, so that the kitchen god say more good words to Jade Emperor. 　　枣膜

枣馍是河南小伙伴春节必吃的特色美食。枣馍种类各异，也会做成鱼的形状。但最常见的还是枣山和枣花两种。枣馍还承担着特有传统文化功能，宗庙里会用枣馍祭奠祖宗。

Jujube steamed bun is a necessary food during the Spring Festival in Heinan province. There are various kinds of Jujube steamed buns of different shapes. 上海人很务实。上海人过年没有贴对联，贴福字，挂红灯笼的习惯，过年高兴，为什么一定要用这些形式上的东西去表现呢？不买那些东西省的钱多买两条鱼吃岂不是更实惠？血蚶（毛蚶）、黄泥螺、海瓜子，是上海人过年餐桌上常见的海产品。

　　糖环

广州过年必吃的特色美食，最具代表的要说是各种具有好意头的糕点。造型美观，口味香甜。

在应节食品当中，糖环大概是最为美观的，它形状别致，寓以环环相扣，生生不息之意。

In Guangzhou, different kins of cakes with good meaning are the most representative snacks. They usually have pretty shape and sweet taste. Take a traditional snack “TangHuan” for instance, it is the most beautiful cake because it looks like a few circles overlapping together. In Chinese, “Huan” means eternal life.

　　西北· 西安Xi’an

　　臊子面

臊子面是陕西风味小吃，品种多达数十种，关中农村地区，新年第一天的早晨基本都是臊子面。吃饭前，先端一碗汤去门前撒一些以祭奠先人和土地爷、仓神、灶神等，后才家人享用。

Minced noodle is a traditional food in Shanxi province, which has many kinds of variety. In the rural area of central Shanxi plain area, the first breakfast of new year is always this noodle. Before eating, people will spill some soup in front of the door in order to hold a memorial service for ancestors, earth god, warehouse god and kitchen god first, and then they will enjoy the noodles. 　　盆菜

如果说吃饺子是北方人年夜饭的重头戏，那么全家围坐共享盆菜宴便是很多香港人除夕夜里必不可少的环节。吃盆菜，求的是“盆满钵满”的意头。在盆状食器内加入鱿鱼、冬菇、花胶、大虾、发菜、红烧猪肉等丰富食材一起炖煮而成，象征合家团圆、满堂吉庆的寓意。

On New Year's Eve, the essential thing for most Hongkong people is sitting around a table and enjoying Poon Choi with the whole family. They eat Poon Choi in order to make their life “pour”, which means fullness.
